The Bali Tiger is one of three extinct tiger subspecies of eight total tiger subspecies. Due to the phenomenon known as island miniaturization, the Bali Tiger was the smallest of all tigers. Their population was probably never large, and as their island habitat was destroyed and the pressures of hunting increased, the last of the Bali Tigers died out.
