This series of mobile shopping cart planters—designed in collaboration with the youth of 360 Nation's empowerment classes at Sumner Academy in West Garfield Park—take "abandoned trash" and transforms it into beautiful, mobile vegetable gardens for a food desert neighborhood.

Neither these neighborhoods nor their vacant lots are truly "abandoned." In fact, they contain tremendous potential—and possibilities to consider climate resilience strategies through the creation of community garden spaces for play, exercise, neighborhood gathering and community-controlled edible and medicinal resources.
