When learning more about the relatively new garden at Hammond Elementary in the Marshall Square neighborhood, we heard that the kids had asked for a place to read.

Wanting to honor this request through our planter designs—created in collaboration with the carpentry team at Sweet Water Foundation—we decided to create a circle of kid-sized "planter-chairs." Nearby, adults can rest comfortably on a set of modular benches—which also double as planters for the fruits and vegetables requested by the families who care for the garden.
