Species Traitor was the name of green anarchist magazine, which the artist encountered in the early 2000s. Meaning one who allies themselves with the non-human world, perhaps against human civilization, the magazine covered a debunking of a "progress-based" view of human history alongside thoughts on rewilding, animal liberation, anti-civ thinking and the concept and form of revolution. The work is modeled on an imagining of the artist's femur, as it will be visible after her death, rewilded and encrusted with freshwater pearls.
