As part of GCC a series of climate change street fairs will bring all kinds of sustainability and resilience oriented workshops to Chicago communities.

At the UIC Earth Day fair, a seed bomb workshop sent hundreds of 'mini prairies' home with students to 'bomb' into abandoned lots and un-green spaces. The 15+ species of seeds contained in each seed ball replicated what once grew in Chicago before it was urbanized and paved over.

Other stations included screen printing on thrifted t-shirts, shade-providing tree give-aways, vegan food, a tutorial on growing edible pea shoots, a banner to sign and make a climate commitment, an eco-poetry workshop, and information about on-campus sustainability efforts.
